About People's Hope, Inc.

People's Hope, Inc (PHI) is a Christian, non-profit, non governmental human service organization. It has been organized to help fight poverty, HIV/AIDS and supply medical services to the poor and underprivileged in third world countries. While PHI is open to everyone, it is now focusing its efforts on helping the people of Tanzania.
In Africa, and Tanzania in particular, HIV/AIDS has reached catastrophic levels. This causes many children to become orphans. Victims of this disease as well as their families are struggling for the basic needs of life: food, clothing, and basic medical care, these essential needs are unmet.
We are especially sensitive to the growing number of orphans as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Tanzania.
Existing hospitals and clinics in Tanzania are generally under staffed, under funded, and under equipped. Many individuals and charities would like to help with this situation, but do not know where to assist, or more specifically how to help.
PHI has decided to build a hospital in Tanzania to serve people in need, especially HIV/AIDS orphans. Land in Tanzania has already been secured for this purpose. We hope to start building this hospital in late 2008, depending on the availability of funds.
People’s Hope hospital will work with other organizations (from both inside and outside Tanzania), who are ready to assist in providing better medical care to Tanzania and its people.
In August, 2004, PHI was established under the non-profit act of the State of Minnesota, U.S.A. Also, in year 2005, People's Hope, Inc. was registered and incorporated in Tanzania, East Africa as a branch of PHI, with its headquarters being in Minnesota, U.S.A.

Founder

The Founder and President of People’s Hope, Inc., Dr. Adili Seushi, is a young Tanzanian Physician who was living in Minnesota, USA for six years. In March, 2007, Dr Seushi returned to his home country Tanzania to continue with the project. Dr Seushi has developed strong relationships with people in the USA (especially in Minnesota). This is evident through the support he has already received from organizations and individuals located there. Such support has been expressed through assistance in developing his vision for People’s Hope Hospital, but it has also been shown through monetary and material support towards making that vision a reality. It is also a great comfort for those supporters to know that Dr. Seushi will be in charge of the new hospital.
Additionally, it is very important that Dr. Seushi has already begun building up a team of other medical professionals to assist him in the new hospital. These include not only physicians and nurses, but also medical and lab assistants, and other technicians. It is further the vision for the new hospital that some physicians and others from the USA come as volunteers to assist in the hospital, for short or long periods of time. Such visits will not only assist in dealing with patient load, but the further training to the Tanzanian medical staff.
It need also be mentioned that without this new hospital, many orphans, especially in Tanzania’s largest city, Dar es Salaam, will receive little or no medical care. Dr. Seushi has a great passion for that part of his country’s population.
Creating the People’s Hope Hospital will also give the general population hope to overcome diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, diarrhea and many other diseases.
Dr. Seushi has a vision of visiting orphanage homes or villages with a trained medical team from his hospital.
